Welcome to the Colston's Sixth Form.
Here you will find out all that you need to know, about what it means to be a Sixth Former at this busy, hard-working school. Of course this is the stage at which students, and their parents, start to really think about the next stage of their education and we have an enviable tradition of preparing candidates for competitive universities. However, as at every stage at Colston's, we respond to the needs of the individual and have provided a wide curriculum accordingly.

Students study A-Levels as these remain the gold standard qualification by which entry to competitive universities is secured, but we also offer a specific BTECs for Sport, Music and a CTEC for Business. Our wide-ranging extra-curricular programme further enhances our provision. We really do believe that there is much more to school life than academic work. Sport, music, drama and a host of other extracurricular activities are major components of what Colston's provides as well as the continued theme of service to others and Sixth Formers have many ways in which they can contribute to the school and wider communities.
Most of Colston's Year 11 students carry on to the Sixth Form after GCSEs but every year we are joined by a healthy number of students joining from other schools, both from the maintained sector and from other independent schools. However, whether an individual is new to the school or not, everyone is new to the Sixth Form and the start of Year 12 begins with an induction programme designed to get everyone up to speed and ready to face the challenges of a more independent period of academic study leading to the next step of their education or training.
These pages will tell you everything that you need to know but if you are new to the school, please arrange to come and visit us and to see the school in action. You won't be disappointed.
