Clubs and Societies

Here at Colston’s we pride ourselves on our wide range of clubs and societies that we offer all our pupils and firmly believe that teaching should, by no means, be confined to the classroom.

Pupils from reception upwards also benefit from educational school outings to places of interest locally and further afield.

We are very proud to offer more than 20 extra-curricular clubs which are run at lunchtime and after school with some catering for leisure interests, while the rest providing further opportunities which help children on their educational journey.

Some of the clubs and workshops offered include Chess, Choir, Music and Dance, Beading, Art, Chinese, Cooking, Speech and Drama, Percussion, ICT, Climbing and Recorders as well as sporting opportunities, such as New Age Curling, Football and Golf.

For our Key Stage 1 children the clubs are held after school and the pupils may choose a club at the beginning of each term with parents encouraged to help their child make a choice. If, however, a club is over-subscribed the children who were unable to attend one term should be able to attend the following term.

It is slightly different for Key Stage 2 pupils as some of the clubs are held during the lunch hour and others after school. The Key Stage 2 programme of clubs and activities change each term and if a club is over-subscribed preference will generally be given to older children.

Most of our clubs and activities are free however if a particular club involves the services of a tutor from outside school there will be a fee.
